DfES Key Skills Web site These pages outline the Governments position on Key Skills, and focus on some of the issues which surround future developments.

Key Skills Front Door - Search/Index These pages are managed by the Key Skills in Higher Education Dissemination Project at the University of Nottingham and the Open University. There are several links on these pages to key skills initiatives occurring in the UK and worldwide.
Key Skills: Making a Difference Key Skills: Making a Difference is a resource pack from the Open University for anyone wishing to improve how they study, by using key skills to make learning more effective. The site contains illustrative examples from the pack.
Skills Development: The Management of Change The objectives of this Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL) project are to:
  • identify good practice in teaching and learning for the progressive and structured development of students' skills;
  • identify the barriers to change and formulate strategies for implementation, which are applicable to a range of disciplines and organisational structures;
  • facilitate the implementation of identified good teaching and learning practice through the effective dissemination of the project deliverables.
In identifying best organisational practice in developing students' skills, and by supporting and facilitating the management of positive change, the project aims to provide wide-ranging and tangible benefits to the HE sector. By far the most important benefit will be to improve the educational experience and achievement of students in the long-run. The conference workshop will focus on the relevance of these ideas to geographers.
The Key to Key Skills The project aims to implement a Web-based system developed at Leeds Metropolitan University, designed to support students' key skills, and make it portable to other UK higher education institutions.
